MORE Okotoks

The Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce was successful in obtaining a government grant to assist with an approved shop local project for the last quarter of 2021. The MORE Okotoks campaign is intended to entice not only residents to support local, but also as an added tourism piece by showcasing Okotoks as a destination by providing ‘points of interest’ for selfies and photo opportunities, and creating intrigue with our amazing shops and eating establishments. 

The Okotoks Letters

The installation of our portable OKOTOKS sign at the landmark site on McRae Street, is quite often a topic of conversation around town.   In partnership with phase two of the MORE Okotoks campaign, which included a series of commercial style videos showcasing that there ‘are a number of things to do in Okotoks’, we continue to encourage both residents and visitors to take in our local business community.

Mural Project - Bill Robertson Park

Giving you a reason to check out our cool, little town, the Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce has started to bring their mural project to life.  As a part of our MORE Okotoks campaign, we have commissioned local artists to assist us with painting murals in a handful of locations through out town.

This BEE HAPPY mural was designed by Awedity Creative and added to the backdrop at Bill Robertson Park in the Fall of 2022.  A special thank you to the Okotoks Minor Soccer / United Soccer Association for partnering with us and allowing us to re-surface their storage container located by the tot playground.   

With Okotoks being designated as a 'bee friendly' community, the concept of this mural seems fitting.

Mural Project - Okotoks Elks Hall

As a part of the Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce MORE Okotoks Campaign and Shop Local Project, here is our second mural project that was recently painted on the east side of the Elks Hall.

We are so thrilled with the partnership with the Okotoks #31 Elks Club and having use of their east facing wall on Elk Avenue. Creation and design by Sarah Slaughter Art, who has done an amazing job transforming the wall and giving credit to the service clubs who utilize the space.

Sarah Slaughter was commissioned by the Okotoks Chamber for a painted mural as part of our MORE Okotoks Shop Local Campaign back in 2021.  We are so thankful we found an amazing home for it!!
